US strengthens promotion of cuisine in Vietnam

On August 3, in Ho Chi Minh City, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) cooperated with MM Mega Market Vietnam to introduce to the people and visitors the typical culinary dishes from this country called "Discovering the taste of US".

The program is implemented simultaneously at MM Mega Market system nationwide, from August 3 to 17, with promotions up to 30% for brands such as Heritage, Bristol, Hormel and Lay's.

Some fresh fruit products also have good discounts, at VND269,000 per kilogram of cherries, and VND59,000 for each box of 125 gram of blueberries. Customers can also enjoy dishes made from American chicken.

Now more than 27 years since the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of comprehensive relations, the US has been known one of Vietnam’s leading trade partners, according to Andrew Anderson, Senior Agricultural Attaché of the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the General Statistics Office, in the first 6 months of 2023, the US is Vietnam's largest export market with an estimated turnover of USD44.2 billion. The export turnover of goods in June 2023 of Vietnam was estimated at USD29.3 billion, up 4.5% from the previous month and down 11.4% from the same period last year.

Previously, the American Poultry and Egg Export Association also cooperated with Saigontourist Hotel and Tourism College to organize Tailored Seminar and Cooking Contest with U.S. Chicken, aiming to provide an opportunity to learn, expand knowledge and improve skills for culinary students./.
