Vietnam strengthens tourism promotion in RoK

Earlier, in December 2022, the VNAT and the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO)signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in promoting Vietnam - Korea tourism in 2023 - 2024, creating a foundation for the two sides to promote tourism cooperation and visitor exchange.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet said: “After completely reopening tourism activities from March 15, 2022, Vietnam has organized many promotional activities and tourism exchanges in the RoK such as: Vietnam Cultural Tourism Festival, Vietnam Tourism Introduction Program; and attending the World Tourism Industry Conference within the framework of the TITF Fair (known as KOTFA Fair).

Along with that, Vietnam always supports, responds and welcomes Korean tourism promotion activities and cultural - tourism - culinary festivals organized by the KTO and Korean localities in Vietnam.

With the efforts of the entire tourism industry, in the first 9 months of 2023, Vietnam welcomed about 8.9 million international visitors, of which the RoK is the largest market sending tourists to Vietnam with nearly 2.6 million visitors. In 2023, Vietnamese tourism was also be honored at the World Travel Awards in Asia and Oceania with many top award categories in Asia.

The promotion program also creates opportunities for Vietnamese and Korean investors and tourism firms to meet, seek cooperation and business opportunities, and increase two-way tourist exchange in the context of the two countries strengthening bilateral economic and cultural cooperation.

In addition, Vietnamese tourism, travel and hotel businesses have also introduced new tourism products and services, suitable to the tastes and needs of the Korean market and attractive incentive programs and promotions./.
