Connection Program between Canadian import businesses and Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises in the processed food industry is being held on November 20-22 by Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) and Trade Facilitation Office (TFO) of Canada.
The move is among activities within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation Agreement signed between Vietrade and TFO Canada to improve export capacity for Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises.

Ms. Tran Thu Quynh, Commercial Counselor, Vietnam Trade Office in Canada, said that the program offers chances for 30 Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of agricultural products and processed foods to participate in a training course and directly connect with Canadian buyers to learn about market information and customer tastes, thereby developing products, improving competitiveness, and accessing import markets.
In addition to information, the program also helps businesses understand more about standards, quality and new market requirements such as plastic packaging and recycled content in packaging. These are very new standards for a high-end and demanding market like Canada.
“The organization of direct connection sessions is expected to bring practical results in supporting Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises to develop sustainably; towards promoting the exploitation of difficult export markets such as Canada, and North America in general,” Quynh assessed.
