Senator Tom Cotton, a senator of the Republican Party in Arkansas State, shared the tweet of US President Donald Trump and thanked the Vietnamese people for their support of medical equipment in dealing with COVID-19.

“Very grateful for the people of Vietnam and their generosity during this time. Thank you!” he wrote on Twitter, attaching the tweet of US President Trump on 450,000 made-in-Vietnam sets of medical protective suits which were transferred to Dallas International Airport, Texas, on April 8th.
In a statement, the US Embassy in Hanoi said that it had worked with the Vietnamese Government to facilitate the delivery of protective equipment to the US.
On April 7th, the first of two shipments of more than 450,000 DuPont protective suits left Hanoi for the US on April 8th. The suits will help protect medical professionals working on the front lines against COVID-19 in the US.
In a regular press conference on April 9th, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang confirmed that the second batch was shipped to the US on April 10th.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the US Agency for International Development have been working with Vietnamese officials to monitor and respond to the disease situation.
In late March, the US provided about USD3 million for Vietnam to prepare the laboratory system, search for COVID-19 cases, inspect suspected cases, support technical experts, disseminate information for the disease, and prevent and control infections./.
