The Hanoi University of Science and Technology ranked 1,036th in the world, up 207 places, while Ton Duc Thang University is up 504 places in the second Webometrics rankings of world universities 2020 by the Cybermetrics Lab, a member of the Spanish National Research Lab.

On the rankings, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology ranked 1st among Vietnamese universities. Meanwhile, the Vietnam National University – Hanoi does not maintain its 1st place among Vietnamese higher education institutions, standing at 2nd place, despite its rise of 36 steps compared to the first rankings 2020.
The ranked universities in Vietnam include Ton Duc Thang University, at 1,818th and up 504 places; the Ho Chi Minh city University of Science and Technology, at 1,882th; and the Can Tho University, at 2,217th, up 57 places.
Also among the top 10 Vietnamese universities in the rankings are Da Nang University, Duy Tan University and the Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology and Education.
The College of Science under the Thai Nguyen University, was for the first time ranked at 58th among 176 Vietnamese ranked universities.
Webometrics is the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) offering every six months an independent, objective, free, open scientific exercise for providing reliable, multidimensional, updated and useful information about the performance of universities from all over the world.
Started in 2004 with the aim of offering full coverage of HEIs, currently the rankings include 30,000 HEIs from more than 200 countries./.
