The US magazine CounterPunch has just published an article on Vietnam's success in the fight against COVID-19, which highlights the solidarity of the people.

According to the article, Vietnam quickly and decisively prevented the SARS-CoV-2 virus causing COVID-19 by closing the border, prohibiting flights from Vietnam to other countries, suspending the issuance of visas to foreigners, tracing the sources of the pandemic, and carrying out quarantine and social distancing in a short time. However, the article confirmed that the Government’s actions would not be effective without the people’s coordination in conducting preventive measures such as wearing masks, applying social distancing and leaving homes only when absolutely necessary.
The article also confirmed that the Vietnamese young generation had a strong spirit of solidarity and unity with the collective, which is more effective in crisis.
A British Council survey showed that 72% of young people in Vietnam believed that their country would be better in the next 15 years than it was before 2019. This reflects the optimism of the Vietnamese people. Their concerns and recommendations focus on politics, corruption prevention, environmental protection, gender equality, economic improvement, and start-up spirit./.
