PathetLao, a publication of the Lao News Agency, on June 28, said that at the invitation of Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and his wife; Vietnamese State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife, Thongloun Sisoulith, Lao Party General Secretary and State President, and his wife will lead a high-level delegation of the Lao Party and State to pay a friendship visit to to Vietnam from June 28-29. The visit is an important event because it is the first official foreign affairs activity of a Laotian senior leader after the successful organization of the 11th Party Congress.
The visit aims to reaffirm the stance of the Lao Party, State and people in preserving and promoting the strong traditional ties between the two countries, contributing to the development of great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples which was painstakingly founded and fostered by the great President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President President Suphanouvong, and developed by generations of leaders, revolutionary soldiers and people of the two countries.
According to PathetLao, the visit also once again affirms that despite the regional situation, the world is facing many challenges due to the complicated spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the two Parties and two States will continue to protect and promote the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Laotian newspaper Pasaxon (People's Newspaper) on the same day also emphasized that the official friendship visit to Vietnam by the Lao Party General Secretary and State President and his wife is an important event in the relationship between the two Parties, the two States and the two peoples.
The visit took place in the context of the two Parties and countries having successfully organized Party Congresses. This is also the first year that the two countries have organized the implementation of the resolution of the Congress, the strategy and the socio-economic development plan of each Party and each country, so it is a good opportunity for the two sides to discuss the strategies of the two countries and directions for cooperation in the coming time, making an important contribution to the building of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.
