On November 22, major Japanese media outlets such as Mainichi, Nikkei and Jiji published articles about Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Japan from November 22-25.
Mainichi newspaper emphasizes that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is the first State Guest of Prime Minister Kishida Fumio's Government.
The Mainichi newspaper emphasized that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is the first State visitor to officially visit Japan since Prime Minister Kishida Fumio took office. The visit aims to concretize bilateral cooperation in many fields such as security and economy, and towards realizing a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
During this visit, on November 24, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks with Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, discuss the global supply chain, and expand the sending of Vietnamese interns to work in Japan and international issues. The two Prime Ministers will witness the signing ceremony of many cooperation documents and hold a joint press conference.
The Mainichi newspaper added that the Japanese Government attaches great importance to the strategic partnership with Vietnam. The field of diplomacy is also very developed as, in October 2020, Mr. Suga Yoshihide, who had just taken office as Prime Minister, chose Vietnam as his first foreign trip destination. Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, on the occasion of the Climate Change Conference that took place in the UK, held talks with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Meanwhile, the Nikkei newspaper said, the two sides will discuss strengthening cooperation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and affirmed that, for Japan, the ASEAN region is an important partner with the same purpose as Japan, in which Vietnam is a partner with common strategic and broad interests.
Earlier, Head of the Japanese Cabinet Office Matsuno Hirokazu affirmed that through high-level talks between the two Prime Ministers, the further strengthening of bilateral relations and personal trust of the two Prime Ministers will be realized./.
