The Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Thanh Hoa provincial People's Committee on July 22nd held a ceremony to launch and parade vehicles to promote a contest on communicating the sovereignty and sustainable development of Vietnam’s sea and islands in the Red River Delta region and neighboring provinces.

A photo exhibition themed “Travelling Vietnam through photos” was launched in Moscow, Russia on July 21st to introduce culture and coastal life to Russian audience through the lens of female Russian photographer Vera Mazhirina.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on April 29 handed over 30 billion VND (1.27 million USD) in donations from local people and soldiers to help build a medical station on Nam Yet Island in Truong Sa archipelago.

Vietnam has taken correct and timely action on the East Sea issue by sending a diplomatic note to the UN Secretary General to oppose China's claim over the East Sea and assert Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, according to Russian international law researchers and experts.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on October 25th once again stressed Vietnam’s request for relevant parties not to repeat violations of the country’s waters while answering reporters’ question regarding a group of Chinese ships’ withdrawal from Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.

(CPV) – The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Online Newspaper on October 14th held a seminar with the theme “Vietnam’s legal rights and interests in the East Sea in accordance with international law”.

China's sovereignty claims over most of the areas in the East Sea are invalid in legality and its unilateral actions in the sea are illegitimate, a Belgian expert of international maritime law has said.

Son Ca, one of the large islands of the Spratly archipelago, looks like a park through the painstaking hands of cadres and soldiers in planting trees and creating little but nice playgrounds.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu held a ceremony on June 1st to launch Vietnam Sea and Island Week and Action Month for the Environment in response to World Oceans Day and World Environment Day 2019.

Nearly 150 photos highlighting Vietnam’s sea and islands are on display at an exhibition which opened in the central city of Da Nang on November 15th.

The Prime Minister has signed Decision 1365/QD-TTg on the organization and operation of the fund for Vietnam’s sea and islands.
