Over 450kg of bitterns and barn owls seized in Quang Ninh province

(CPV) - The authorities of Quang Ninh province have recently seized 456.5kg of precious birds, including 403kg of frozen Bitterns and 47kg of live bitterns and 6.5kg of live barn owls.

Mr. Tu Tu Banh from the Quang Ninh provincial Forest Development Department, said that at 00.30am of September 23, while working on the National Highway 18A through Ha Long city, his team and the Forest Protection Unit of Quang Yen district detected a car with registration number of 16L-1139 driven by Vu Van Manh, 30 years old, residing in Trang Son town, An Lao district, Hai Phong city, illegally transporting 456.5kg of precious birds.

The Quang Ninh provincial Forest Protection Department seized the car and the birds. The case is under further investigation./.
