Tuyen Quang province supports socio-economic development among ethnic minorities

Additionally, the province will recheck land assigned to forestry companies but not used efficiently, to make it agricultural land for residents; accelerate the assignment of land and forest to ethnic minority families to manage and develop; and support breeding industry and labour export among poor ethnic minority people and poor families in extremely disadvantaged villages.

The quality of vocational training will be increased with the aim of providing more efficient vocational training for rural labourers, especially ethnic minority ones.

Ethnic minority people account for nearly 54% of Tuyen Quang province’s population. The efforts target reducing the poverty rate among ethnic minority people to 4% per year from now until 2020, assisting 1,938 families with over 355 hectares of production land, and 758 others with over 24 hectares of residential land, supporting work shift for 5,706 families, and providing safe water for 15,538 others.

Over the past years, Tuyen Quang has built over 2,700 kilometres of rural traffic routes, helping nearly 100% of villages have car roads to the centres. Priorities have been given for building the power system; therefore, 100% of the communes and over 97.8% of families in the province have access to the national grid./.
