The institute, costing nearly VND700 billion (USD30.4 million), is expected to deal with the shortage of workforce in the field.

Upon operational by 2022, it will train nearly 3,500 students each year on a site of 10ha, focusing on professional skills such as pilots, flight attendants, aviation technicians, ground operations and basic training functions.

It will also partner with prestigious domestic and foreign universities to ensure the highest aviation education standards such as CAAV, EASA, FAA and IATA.

Ho Thi Thu Trang, Bamboo Airways Director of Human Resources and Deputy Director of the Training Centre said on-site training is the overall plan that the carrier chooses to ensure human resources itself.

After being put into operation, the institute will contribute to increasing the number of domestic personnel, reducing reliance on foreign partners, improving competitiveness as well as ensuring sustainable growth of Vietnam’s aviation industry, she said./.
