Hanoi: Over 96,000 customers receive preferential loans

According to Dang Duc Hanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, in the first nine months of 2024, the bank and political-social organizations maintained regular two-way communication to share new policies and initiatives.

During this period, loan disbursements through political-social organizations reached VND5,767 billion, benefiting over 96,000 customers. The majority of loans were for job creation (VND5,141 billion), clean water and rural sanitation (VND557 billion), and housing support for poor households (VND29.5 billion).

As of September 30, the city's total outstanding loans amounted to VND16,228 billion, of which VND16,216 billion was entrusted through political-social organizations, accounting for 99.9% of the total. Compared to the beginning of the year, entrusted loan balances increased by VND2,072 billion, with over 272,000 customers benefiting from these loans.

By the end of September 2024, the bank had disbursed VND29.5 billion to 593 poor and near-poor households for the construction and renovation of homes.

Notably, the city's budget has helped create jobs for over 70,000 workers and supported more than 25,000 households in building or renovating clean water and sanitation facilities./.
