At the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai said that President Ho Chi Minh was the founder of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930. Under his guidance and the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people united and agreed, defeated hostile forces, won the great victory in the August Revolution in 1945, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, today the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Currently, President Ho Chi Minh's ideology remains intact. The Communist Party of Vietnam always applies his ideology in developing the country in all fields, especially in expanding and strengthening the cooperative relations with progressive parties around the world, including the ruling PSUV party in Venezuela. The legacy and ideology of President Ho Chi Minh and Commander Hugo Chavez laid the foundation for the Vietnam- Venezuela friendship relations to increasingly strengthen and develop as it is today.
Previously, in December 2007, the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela coordinated with the Andino Parliament and the Venezuelan National Assembly to organize a ceremony to place President Ho Chi Minh’s statue on the avenue named after National Liberation Hero Simón Bolívar in the center of the capital of Caracas. The statue of President Ho Chi Minh is placed on a 2m high marble pedestal, next to the statue is a flagpole with the Vietnamese National Flag./.
