The non-refundable vaccine assistance from the Japanese Government and people has brought the total assistance amount from this country to Vietnam to 2 million doses.

The assistance helps Vietnam promptly prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Earlier, on June 16, Japan sent 966,320 doses of the vaccine to the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, marking the first batch of the vaccine assistance.

According to Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, the vaccines are precious gifts which show the good relationship between the two Governments and peoples, especially during the complex development of the pandemic and the scarcity of vaccine worldwide.

He noted that Vietnam is the first country in Southeast Asia to receive vaccine from Japan./.
