He said that the whole province has planted over 82,000 scattered trees; 2,494 hectares of concentrated forest, managing and protecting more than 494,000 hectares of forest, bringing the province's forest coverage rate to an estimated 52.3%.
To strive to plant 15,000 hectares of new forest in the whole province by the end of 2025, the Chairman requested all levels of party committees, authorities, unions, agencies, units and localities in the province to well implement a number of tasks such as: promoting communications in many forms to the people about the purpose and meaning of "tree planting festival"; the role, great effects, comprehensive and long-term benefits; humane value of tree and forest planting and protection; organizing tree and forest planting in accordance with the conditions of each locality, agency and unit, ensuring practicality and effectiveness.
At the same time, it is essential to continue to review, adjust and supplement planning and afforestation plans associated with agricultural and tourism development, and new-style rural area construction; selecting plants suitable for each urban area, zones, tourism destinations, production facilities and rural residential areas./.
