On the morning of February 19, in Hanoi, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education, and Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Affairs, had a meeting with the Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad appointed for the 2024-2027 term.
Congratulating the newly appointed ambassadors and consuls general, Mr. Nghia emphasized that this is a very great and glorious task that the Party, State and People have entrusted to Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad for the 2024-2027 term.
Currently, the world and regional situation faces many complex and unpredictable developments; peace, cooperation and development are still major trends, but they also face many new difficulties and challenges. Domestically, after half the term of the 13th National Party Congress, our country has firmly overcome difficulties and challenges and achieved many important and comprehensive results, creating a foundation for socio-economic development and promoting economic growth, improving competitiveness in the medium and long term. In 2023, foreign affairs activities, especially high-level foreign affairs, will take place vibrantly across continents and at many important multilateral forums and mechanisms.

To continue promoting the results achieved in the Party's political and ideological work and external information affairs, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia requested the newly appointed Ambassadors and Consuls General to focus on performing well a number of key tasks such as: Deeply grasping the Party and State's viewpoints, policies and guidelines on foreign affairs and foreign information; Closely coordinating with forces working on foreign information work in the country to improve the quality and effectiveness of foreign information work in the new situation.
Support domestic press agencies to expand cooperation with international press agencies, promote media cooperation methods, proactively provide and exchange information, actively promote and introduce information. Introduce the image of the country, people, culture, and development potential of Vietnam to international friends;
Proactively research and advise on information and propaganda work on hot issues of public concern, in order to stabilize the thoughts, feelings and ideas of the Vietnamese community abroad as well as help international friends love and support Vietnam in correctly understanding the guidelines and policies of the Party and State of Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang also said that currently, Vietnam has 95 diplomatic representative agencies abroad in all continents. Foreign information work is always considered a main activity, one of the important functions and tasks of representative agencies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an inseparable part of external information affairs of the Party and State.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang hopes to continue to receive close guidance and support from the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education and the Steering Committee for External Information Affairs so that external information work of the Vietnamese representative agencies abroad is increasingly effective, actively contributing to the work of building, developing and protecting the Fatherland./.
