Last year, Quang Ngai Province had special advantages in industrial development, with its State budget revenue exceeding VND24.19 trillion (USD1.06 billion), 51% higher than the yearly plan, despite COVID-19 impacts. Industrial production index (IIP) picked up 14.5 percent year-on-year. In the context of general difficulties of the economy, the development of Dung Quat Economic Zone and industrial zones still achieved positive results, with export turnover of USD1.29 billion, an increase of 3.2%.
Speaking at the meeting with the province’s leader, the State President stressed the precious tradition of the people and heroic Quang Ngai land with many great talents in various fields, and highly appreciated the result of ranking 5th in the Central economic region, the highest growth in this region, especially the achievements in budget revenue, export, and the building of new-style rural areas.
According to the State President, in difficult conditions, the authority and people of Quang Ngai have united and agreed to implement the right solutions for socio-economic development, solve many problems, and find effective ways and development models.
In the coming time, the State President suggested that Quang Ngai further strongly improve the business investment environment, and better exploit the potential advantages of a locality with a long coastline for even faster growth.
Emphasizing the three pillars of economy - society - environment, he expressed his wish that Quang Ngai pay attention first to the quality of human resources, reviewing the master plan with a longer vision; especially, it is necessary to orient the development structure of Dung Quat Economic Zone more sustainably; and contribute positively and more importantly to the national economy.
The President emphasized, being proactive and self-reliant is the motto that the Provincial Party Committee needs to thoroughly grasp, and it should rely on the people and businesses, upgrade industrial parks and economic zones to attract investment, in addition to the support of the State.
On this occasion, he presented 150 houses to disadvantaged ethnic minorities in Quang Ngai Province.
