APEC Film Week 2017 to be held in Hanoi, Da Nang

A film week to celebrate the APEC Vietnam 2017 will be screened in Hanoi from October 11th - 16th and in the central city of Da Nang from October 12th - 16th.

The APEC Film Week 2017 including a total of 11 films (nine feature films and two documentaries) are made by 11 APEC member economies, including Vietnam, China, Taiwan (China), Peru, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Russia, the United States, Chile and Australia.

Following the APEC Year 2017 themed “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future”, the event aims to connect the cultures of APEC member economies, contributing to building an Asia-Pacific community of peace, stability, dynamic development and prosperity. 

The event also seeks to raise the role of the APEC forum and Vietnam’s position among member economies whilst publicising the culture and people of Vietnam to international friends.

The opening ceremonies are set to transpire at 19h00 on October 11th at the National Cinema Centre (No. 87 Lang Ha, Hanoi) and on October 12th at Le Do Threatre (No.46 Tran Phu, Da Nang).

The event will be marked with the screening of Vietnamese film “My nhan” (The Beautiful Woman) by director Dinh Thai Thuy.

The APEC Film Week 2017 event, directed by the National Committee on APEC 2017 and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and chaired by the Vietnam Cinema Department will be held jointly by the International Cooperation Department (Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the APEC Secretariat, the Da Nang city People's Committee and relevant units./.
