Bac Ninh is the first ever locality to implement a monthly support policy for artisans and annual funding support for Quan ho folk original and practice villages.

After 10 years since Quan ho folk singing’s recognition as an intangible cultural heritage of humankind by UNESCO, the arts has promoted its cultural values, has long-lasting vitality and spreads both domestically and internationally.
In order to make these achievements, the northern province of Bac Ninh strives to take the lead in preserving folk songs, including preferential policies for artisans.
So far, it has awarded 71 artisan titles and five outstanding artists. Accordingly, artisans recognized by Bac Ninh provincial People's Committee receive a one-time bonus of VND5 million and a monthly allowance equal to the minimum wage.
The artisans, who were conferred the title of excellent artist and artisan by the State President, receive reward policy according to State regulations./.
