Exhibition on 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s stilt house

Some 200 photos, objects and documents on Uncle Ho’s stilt house were displayed at an exhibition in Hanoi.

Exhibits were divided into three parts, including President Ho Chi Minh and stilt houses in Viet Bac base; Uncle Ho’s stilt house at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi; and Uncle Ho’s stilt house - a symbol of President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morals and styles, national unity and international integration. 


The exhibition, titled “60 years of Uncle Ho's stilt house in Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace” is among the the activities to celebrate the 128th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth.

It is a meaningful activity in protecting and developing the values of traditional stilt house, which plays a unique part in the legend about the President over the past 60 years.

The work, designed by architect Nguyen Van Ninh, took one month to complete, marking the 68th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.


Opened on May 17th, the construction has two floors. Uncle Ho used the ground floor as a sitting-room to receive international delegates and to meet with the Political Bureau. The floor above includes a working room and a bedroom. President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked at the house until he passed away in 1969./.
