Ho Chi Minh city youth light candles in gratefulness to fallen soldiers

Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh city on July 26th held a ceremony of gratefulness to fallen soldiers at seven martyrs' cemeteries in the city, to mark the 70th anniversary of Fallen and Wounded Soldiers’ Day (July 27th).

The ceremony was a significant activity to pay gratitude to fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for national independence, as well as an opportunity to improve awareness and responsibility of the youth, teach tradition and arouse national pride.

At Ho Chi Minh city martyr ceremony in Long Binh precinct, district 9, more than 2,000 young people participated in a ceremony to light candles in gratitude to fallen soldiers. In the ritual, more than 15,000 candles were lit and placed on the graves of fallen soldiers.

At the same time, hundreds of other candles were also lit at six martyr cemeteries in the city, including An Nho Tay martyr cemetery in Cu Chi district, Nha Be district martyr cemetery, Binh Chanh district martyr cemetery, Thu Duc district martyr cemetery, Tan Xuan commune martyr cemetery in Hoc Mon district, and Sac Forest martyr cemetery in Can Gio district./.
