International folk games in Hanoi

Visitors will have an opportunity to study and participate international folk games to be held at Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi on May 26th and 27th on the occasion of the International Children’s Day (June 1st).

The organizing board will introduce folk games such as Hopscotch (India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam), Mandarin Square Capturing (Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam), Capture The Flag (Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam), and Walking on Coconut Shell (Brunei, Laos and Vietnam).

Foreign students in Vietnam will directly instruct and participate in games with tourists.

Representatives from Vietnam Museum of Ethnology said that this will be a chance for children to study similarities as well as differences in folk games of Vietnam and other countries in the world.

In addition, public will understand more about traditional culture of different countries, improving awareness in preserving and promoting cultural heritage./.
