Korean museum shares experiences in conducting survey

The Vietnam National Museum of History has had a working session with the National Gwangju Museum from the Republic of Korea (RoK) on a number of preliminary results of the survey tour of ceramic pottery in Thanh Khoi commune, Gia Loc district, Hai Duong province.

From November 5th to 13th, a delegation from the National Gwangju Museum conducted a survey on four pottery kilns and achieved certain results.

At the working session, the visiting delegation shared their experiences during the survey, several 3D images of the excavation areas, and the methods using physical electricity at several excavations in RoK.

The Gwangju National Museum's construction began in 1977 and was opened to public on December 6th, 1978. Gwangju National Museum aims to conserve cultural values through collection and preservation of historical and valuable artifacts found in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do regions, while making contributions to the community through continuous research, exhibition and education.

Since 2017, with the desire to build the museum that specializes in ceramics, including Southeast Asian ceramics, it has sent officials to Vietnam to work with the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam National Museum of History to establish a cooperative relationship on research, excavation and display of ceramics in the nation./.
