Over 1,000 entries to Vietnam-Japan friendship photo contest

More than 1,000 entries by 126 domestic and foreign photographers were sent to the Organizing Board of the Vietnam - Japan friendship photo contest, contributing to promoting the bilateral relationship.

All of the photos capture the outstanding cultures and traditions of, and especially the friendship between, the two countries.

57 excellent photos were chosen from the contest for display at an exhibition.

On October 31st, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee organized a ceremony to open and present prizes to the winners of the contest.

Launched on July 31st, the event is part of activities to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Japan (September 21st, 1973). It aims to improve young people’s understanding of the bilateral relations, as well as friendship between the two peoples, while helping Japanese youth have deeper insight into Vietnam’s land and people in the integration process.

The work on Vietnam-Japan friendship bridge, title “Sheer Bliss” by Nguyen Viet Cuong from Hanoi, won the first prize. Meanwhile, the second prizes went to Nguyen Kim Long who is living in Japan for the work on Vietnamese youths at Harajuki Super Yosakoi Festival in 2013, and Ho Nhu Y from Hanoi for the photo on the Japanese Emperor and Empress’s visit Hue Imperial Citadel. The Organizing Board also presented five third and five consolation prizes./.
