Seven additional national intangible cultural heritages

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recognized seven additional national intangible cultural heritages.

They include the festival of Lao ethnic people in Nua Ngam commune, Dien Bien district, the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien; the pattern-creation arts on Mong ethnic people’s traditional clothes in Sa Long commune, Muong Cha district, the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien; Vinh Khe village festival in An Dong commune, An Duong district, the northern port city of Hai Phong; the festival of Thai ethnic group in Que Phong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Tuong Duong, Ky Son, Con Cuong and Nghia Dan districts, the central province of Nghe An; Long Khe Temple Festival in An Khe commune, Quynh Phu district, the northern province of Thai Binh; Whale Worshipping Festival in Ngu Loc commune, Hau Loc district, the central province of Thanh Hoa; and a folklore singing in Dong Anh commune, Dong Son district, the central province of Thanh Hoa.

There are 228 national intangible cultural heritages in Vietnam.

According to regulations, national intangible cultural heritages must express identity of community or locality; reflect cultural diversification and creation of human passed through generations; can exist for a long time; and be proposed by the community with a pledge for preservation./.
