According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong, Vietnam became the 7th member of ASEAN on July 28th, 1995. By its practical activities, Vietnam has been an active and responsible member, contributing to building a stronger ASEAN.

The Vietnam Post Corporation and Malaysia Post have a co-initiative: every two years a new stamp themed "ASEAN stamp" will be launched by ASEAN countries. Accordingly, stamps of ASEAN countries will have common logo "ASEAN Post" with the characteristic image of their nations.

ASEAN countries have participated in an “ASEAN Post” logo design contest, and the result showed that the design of a Vietnamese painter has won the first prize and been selected with the highest number of votes to be used on the ASEAN stamp set.

Mr. Minh Hong also said that the posts of eight ASEAN countries on August 8th launched “ASEAN stamp” 2017 with the theme of national flowers.

Vietnam’s stamp set is pink lotus flowers, which is the national flower of Vietnam, on the background of a bronze drum with the "ASEAN Post" logo at the top.

The stamp represents the cultural and spiritual identity of the Vietnamese people, symbolizing the bright beauty and purity that have long been loved and honored by most Vietnamese people. The price of the stamp is VND3,000./.
