The festival drew the participation of 18 units nationwide, and three countries, including Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia. More than 2,000 actors, actresses, artists, musicians and athletes from ethnic minority groups are taking part in the event.

It aims to honour the remarkable cultures of Vietnamese ethnic groups and encourage ethnic people to preserve their traditional brocade craftsmanship. It is also expected to create a venue for local artisans to exchange experience and shape the sustainable handicraft movement in society.

An exhibition of Vietnamese brocade cultural spaces, brocade weaving practice sessions, restoration of several aspects of traditional ethnic minority festivals, art performances, a seminar on brocade culture, a street festival, and a brocade fashion show are being organized during the event.

Along with trying to embroider and weave brocade by themselves, visitors will have opportunity to taste traditional cuisine of Vietnamese ethnic groups, watch art performances, and experience several traditional rituals of ethnic minority groups.
