Vietnamese Tet to be celebrated in Hanoi Old Quarter

Diverse activities in the framework of the programme on Vietnamese Tet in Hanoi Old Quarter are taking place in Hoan Kiem district from February to March 4th.

The event is being held by the Management Board of Hanoi Old Quarter to celebrate the 88th founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3rd) and lunar New Year 2018.

It aims to preserve and honour traditional cultural values, helping tourists, especially the youth, understand the values in traditional Tet of Hanoi and its surroundings in the past.

Accordingly, decoration and installation space of Traditional Tet is introduced at Kim Ngan Communal House at at Kim Ngan Temple at No.42-44 Hang Bac street; a space welcoming Tet of a Hanoian family is held at the Heritage House at No.87 Ma May street; paintings and artistic stones related to the dog in Vietnamese people’s daily life are displayed at the Hanoi Old Quarter Culture Exchange Centre at No.50 Dao Duy Tu street.

In addition, traditional artistic performances will take place at relic sites in the quarter from 20h00 to 22h00 from February 17th to 20th (the 2nd to 5th day of the first lunar month)./.
