Vietnamese water puppetry to perform at international festival

Vietnamese water puppetry will represent the national performing arts at the International Theatre Festival of Kerala (ITFoK) 2019 in India from January 20th to 26th.

At the invitation of the Organizing Committee of the festival, Thang Long Puppet Theater will take part in the traditional water puppet show. This is the first trip of the Theater in the year. The 11-member delegation will be led by Oustanding Artist Chu Luong, the theatre’s Vice Director.
The Theater will also perform in Taiwan (China) at the invitation of J&V Original Co.Ltd from February 11th. This is a cultural and artistic activity including an exhibition, exchange and performance ò Vietnamese intangible cultural heritage, including Vietnamese water puppetry show.
Mr. Luong said that “Water puppetry is one of the attractive performing arts of Việt Nam that foreign visitors always want to discover. There is no language barrier between audiences and water puppetry. People find it easy to understand Vietnamese culture through the acts.”/.
