Bac Giang earns nearly VND5.8 trillion from litchi export

Total litchi volume consumed in the 2018 crop reached 215,800 tons at an average price of VND16,000 a kilogram, grossing a revenue of VND5.75 trillion, according to the Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade.

With this, the figures saw increases of 124,300 tons in volume and VND448 billion in value, compared to the previous crop.

Northern neighboring provinces, big cities like Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh city and southern provinces through distribution dealers, wholesale markets, trade centers and supermarkets like Co.opmart, Big C, and Hapro are the biggest consumers. 

More than 30 countries and territories imported Vietnamese litchi, such as the EU (France, Germany and the Netherlands), Middle East, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, the US, Canada, Japan and the Republic of Korea, with a fresh litchi volume of 97,100 tons, making up 45% of the total; valued at USD170.5 million.

This includes 86,200 tons of fresh litchi exported to China (88.7%); 1,200 tons of fresh litchi shipped to other markets (1.2%); and 3,300 tons of processed litchi (about 10.1%)./.
