The Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical (BSR) JSC has been honored for significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the central province of Quang Ngai in 2018.

This is the sixth consecutive time BSR won the recognition from the provincial People’s Committee.
In the 2016-2018 period, Quang Ngai’s GRDP (gross regional domestic product) on average increased 5.14% a year. Per capita GRDP is estimated at USD2,469 in 2018. The achievements are greatly contributed to by enterprises, especially BSR and Dung Quat Oil Refinery Plant.
Being built in Dung Quat Economic Zone, the Dung Quat Oil Refinery Plant becomes the heart and lever to lift socio-economic potential of Quang Ngai in particular and central localities and central highlands in general.
Since the Dung Quat Oil Refinery Plant was built, investment in the Dung Quat Economic Zone has increased quickly. In 2005, there were only 20 projects licensed with a capital of more than USD1.5 billion; the figure has risen to 286 in 2018, capitalized with over USD11.2 billion, including 51 FDI projects with USD1.34 billion. The projects offered jobs for more than 36,100 workers.
Among 1,540 workers recruited and trained, 811 are local people, making up 52.6%.
Annually, BSR contributes about 80-90% of the total collection of Quang Ngai.
In addition, it well carried out social welfare programs inside and outside the province, in remote and difficult areas nationwide, recording about VND30-40 billion on the work./.
