European companies wish to continue investment in Vietnam

Some 90% of European companies in Vietnam now intend to maintain or increase investment in 2018, according to the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).

Mr. Joaquim Torrinha, EuroCham Deputy Director, said that more than 900 enterprises of the chamber are optimistic about the business situation and investment environment in 2018 in Vietnam.

According to EuroCham members, the Business Climate Index (BCI) reached 77 points in the fourth quarter of 2017, unchanged from the second quarter of 2017.

The index showed the expectations and positive assessment of European companies about the efforts of the Vietnamese Government in improving the business climate over the past time and developing prosperity in the coming time.

Specifically, about 50-60% of enterprises hope to invest more in Vietnam, 36% will maintain their existing investment and just 5% will decrease investment./.
