The ferry, connecting Ho Chi Minh city with Long An, was built with private capital of about VND54 billion. It includes two ferry-boats, weighing 30 tonnes and 60 tonnes, and a terminal system.

Road connecting to Tan Tap ferry landing in Can Giuoc, Long An is 177.92 meters in length, capitalized with VND2 billion by the province’s budget, while about VND3.8 billion for premise clearance was invested by investors.

Meanwhile, road connecting to Can Gio ferry landing in Ho Chi Minh city is 863 meter in length and it has a total investment of VND15 billion from the southern hub’s budget.

Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Director of the city Department of Transport, said the construction of the Can Giuoc-Can Gio ferry meets the demand of people in Long An and western provinces otherwise relying on highway 50 to Can Gio and vice versa.

In addition, it helps cut travel distance by about 11 to 49 kilometers compared to existing routes./.
