The Hanoi authorities will grant permits to 116 projects worth a total of USD15.5 billion at an upcoming investment promotion conference scheduled for June 27th.

The information was announced at a press conference on the investment promotion conference named “Hanoi 2020 - Investment and Development Cooperation”, which is set to attract up to 1,850 delegates, including senior government officials, 29 ambassadors and diplomatic officers, representatives from eight international organizations, foreign experts, among others.
At the conference, the capital will also sign memorandums of understanding with 23 domestic enterprises and 13 foreign companies, worth a total of USD26 billion.
Besides, it will call for investment in 282 projects on housing and urban development, agriculture, industrial production, services and environmental protection with a total worth of USD21.66 billion.
Nguyen Van Suu, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, said that the conference will be a big opportunity for both domestic and foreign enterprises doing business in Hanoi.
He added that the city is determined to become a leading force in Vietnam’s post-coronavirus recovery, noting that it will focus on reforming administrative procedures while further improving the business environment.
In 2020, Hanoi targets an economic expansion rate 1.3 times higher than the national average, and a state budget revenue of VND285 trillion./.
