The figure, which saw an increase of 7.2% compared to 2018, was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for exports in the first year of CPTPP implementation.

Notably, there was a sharp increase in export to some markets that have not signed free trade agreements with Vietnam, such as Canada and Mexico, of 29.9% and 27.6%, respectively.

In general, while Vietnam's trade surplus to all markets in 2019 was approximately USD10 billion, trade surplus to CPTPP alone was nearly USD4 billion USD, accounting for 40%.

This shows the significant benefits of the CPTPP Agreement in the process of promoting and diversifying export markets for Vietnamese goods and services./.
