Vietnam, Malaysia strive to raise trade turnover

The event, recently co-organized by the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnam Business Association in Malaysia, attracted the participation of more than 200 companies of Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and Thailand.

According to statistics from Malaysia, the goal is expected to be achieved in 2019. The two sides are now drafting an agreement for the second five-year action program for the 2020-2025 period in order to raise the bilateral trade turnover to USD25 billion in 2025.

The agreement is expected to be signed during the official visit to Vietnam by Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad next August.

On this occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Le Quy Quynh congratulated the Vietnamese business community on its great achievements in Malaysia over the past time. He hailed the contributions of the community to the development of Vietnam-Malaysia relations./.
