The amount of durian chosen for the promotion program is 7 tons. So far, most of this amount has been sold and the company is about to import more.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, durian is a high-value agricultural product and the production capacity of the fruit is increasing. Since 2019, because the durian export market was forecast to face many challenges, the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia has received the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and trade on promoting durian exports, as well as other agricultural products, to affirm the quality and build reputation.

The survey showed that durian is suitable for frozen consumption and convenient transportation. While fresh Vietnamese durian has not been allowed to export to Australia, frozen durian is permitted.

In addition, some countries are now allowed to ship the fresh fruit into Australia, but frozen durian dominates because of its long shelf life./.
