The Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) has reached a cooperative deal to provide milk to China, the world’s most populous market.

Leader of Vinamilk and Chinese partner signed the deal

The cooperative deal was signed under the framework of State President Tran Dai Quang’s visit to China and the “One Belt, One Road” international forum.

The signing between Vinamilk and the Chinese partner was witnessed by senior leaders of the two countries, and leaders of related ministries and branches.

Vinamilk is Vietnam’s biggest dairy company and among the World’s Top 50 diary firms in revenue.

The company’s products meet international standards and are not only favoured in the domestic market, but also exported to 43 countries around the world like the US, Japan, Middle East, Thailand and the Philippines.

It owns 13 factories in Vietnam and three in the US, New Zealand and Cambodia, with 10 dairy farms across the country with all breeding stock imported from Australia, the US and New Zealand. In 2016, the firm’s export revenue reached USD258 million. Over the past two years, its export turnover of 100% fresh milk grew 70% per year.

Meanwhile, China is a very big market with a total dairy value of more than USD30 billion per year. Thus, Vinamilk hopes that the deal would lay the premise for exports of dairy products to China in the near future as the two-side trade agreement is signed./.
