Construction begins on Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Tower

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Association on May 10th held a ceremony to start construction of the Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Tower at No.31 Le Duan street, Ben Nghe ward, District 1.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Minh Thien, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, affirmed that the project is a manifestation of the fine sentiments between the two nations and their people.

Licensed by the municipal People’s Committee in 2010, the tower will have 21 floors. Its construction is expected to be completed in two years.

Once put into use, the building will also be the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations.

Vietnam and Slovakia established diplomatic relations in 1950. Since then, the bilateral ties have developed continuously, especially in trade and investment./.
