So said Huynh Cong Hung, Deputy Head of the city Department of Home Affairs, during a meeting held on March 5
th to review emulation and reward work.
Notable is the movement on building new style rural areas, in which over VND30 billion was disbursed; and the movement on assisting poor families which helped contribute to reducing household poverty to 1.28% and the rate of households near poverty to 1.91%.
According to Mr. Hung, in 2018, the emulation movements will focus on 7 key tasks in an attempt to promote the strength of the whole political system, and the consensus of society in successfully realizing socio-economic development targets set for the year and for the 2016-2020 period.
Chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong noted that the emulation campaigns should focus on implementing special mechanisms and policies boosting the city’s sustainable and rapid development.
Addressing the meeting, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh praised the results of the emulation movements, adding that the city had overcome a lot of difficulties to become a special urban area,; and a large economic, cultural, educational, training, scientific and technological center.
“Ho Chi Minh city continues to be one of leading localities in emulation movements,” she emphasized, going on to say that more practical emulation campaigns should be implemented in 2018 for realizing socio-economic development targets, increasing the implementation of the 4th Party Central Committee meeting resolution (term XII) on Party building and rectification, preventing and pushing back degradation of political ideology, morality and lifestyle in the Party, in connection with studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style./.
