Ho Chi Minh city meets overseas Vietnamese on Lunar New Year of Pig

The Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh city recently organized a meeting to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tet) of the Pig 2019 with the participation of 800 overseas Vietnamese from 26 countries and territories.

This is an annual activity to show the attention of the Party Committee and administration of Ho Chi Minh city to overseas Vietnamese, who return the homeland to welcome Tet. The meeting also created opportunities for overseas Vietnamese to exchange, cooperate, and contribute to building and developing the city and the whole country.
At the meeting, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee introduced its outstanding achievements in the socio-economic development and screened videos about contributions of overseas Vietnamese for the city during the process of development and integration.
On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 19 outstanding entrepreneurs and intellectuals in the fields of investment, production, business, education and healthcare, and participating in mobilization of overseas Vietnamese in the 2016-2018 period./.
