Policy of establishing Thu Duc city receives approval

The policy aims to realize the project of arranging administrative units at district and commune level in the 2019-2021 period.

The Government office has announced the conclusion of Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh on the project of not organizing the district and ward People’s Councils in Ho Chi Minh city and the project of establishing cities directly under the southern hub.

During the process of building the project, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh noted that Ho Chi Minh City should collect ideas of foreign investors, the world’s leading technology, finance and real estate groups on orientations of building Thu Duc city. The activity can be organized through online meetings in order to understand the investment demand, infrastructure requirements so that it can be integrated into the general scheme and orientation of the city.

Scheme of Thu Duc should be associated with the general scheme of the city as well as those of regional scheme in order to create driving force for growth; avoid overlapping development direction among regions and avoid creating unnecessary regional competition.

He also assigned Ho Chi Minh City to clarify the form of mobilizing resources for infrastructure, in which, if there are resources in the form of socialization, it is necessary to apply investment form in accordance with legal regulations.

Together with economic and financial factors, Thu Duc should design a spacious, green, clean, beautiful and worth living space and pay attention to factors related to epidemic to prevent disease transmission; ensuring sustainable development target in the current context./.
