Quang Binh educational sector overcomes consequences of Typhoon Doksuri

(CPV) - Right after the Typhoon Doksuri in the central localities, many schools in Quang Trach and Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province mobilized teachers and educational workers tidy up roofs and clean the floor to quickly stabilize the teaching and learning.

At Quang Trung high school in Quang Phu commune, Quang Trach district, tens of teachers were presented to clean the school yard. After the typhoon, the school yard was flooded with broken tiles and fallen trees. All classrooms’ roof were blown up. Many glass windows were also broken. The tenement houses for 21 teachers were also heavily damaged.

Teacher Do Huu Dien, headmaster of Quang Trung high school said that “The typhoon devastated the school. All the roofs were blown up. Tables, chairs and learning aids were in water.”

According to the statistic of Quang Binh provincial educational sector, nearly 600 classrooms were collapsed and damaged. The classroom roof on over 40,000m2 was blown up. 640 computers and projectors were broken down. The loss of the provincial educational sector is estimated nearly VND170 billion.

The provincial sector is mobilizing its staff to overcome the consequences to ensure teaching and learning activities next week./.
