He highly appreciated the Mutual Support Fellow-Countrymen Association in Macau for their active operation over the past year, particularly their launch of charity activities to support needy families in the community, as well as disadvantaged people in the homeland.

He hoped that the association would take more practical actions to encourage its members to support each other and improve their livelihoods.

He also called on them to follow the regulations and laws of the host country, while promoting the patriotism and traditions of the nation.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu, Chairwoman of the Mutual Support Fellow-Countrymen Association in Macau (China), said that in 2019, the association helped many Vietnamese women to solve administrative procedures to facilitate their work in Macau, and also launched many charitable fund-raising activities.

In 2019, the association raised 750 million VND to support families in difficult circumstances in Vietnam.

At the celebration, participants enjoyed art performances praising Vietnam’s land and people, and enjoyed Vietnamese traditional dishes on Tet such as spring rolls and “chung” cakes prepared by members of the association.

The Macau Special Administrative Region (China) now has nearly 30,000 Vietnamese workers, mainly women, with income of 500-1,000 USD per month.

Vietnamese workers in Macau are highly appreciated by local officials for their working spirit and compliance with local laws./.
