Dak Lak province mobilizes over VND44 billion to support poor

The Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on October 17th launched the month for the poor which will last until November 17th in response to the campaign “For the poor” by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

According to the Dak Lak provincial Fatherland Front, from 2015 to mid-2017, the province mobilized over VND44 billion to help the poor stabilize their lives. The money has been spent building 908 houses, giving thousands of presents, repairing 152 houses, and providing cows to the poor, contributing to reducing the poverty rate in the province from 19.37% in 2015 to 17.83% in 2016.

During the launch ceremony, President of the provincial Fatherland Front Y Dec H’dok called on agencies, people, businesses, organizations, individuals and sponsors to support the fund for the poor and social welfare programs, in order to help poor families in remote areas and in extremely disadvantaged regions escape poverty sustainably./.
