He requested districts and departments and sectors to continue promoting communication and guidance for people to prevent the disease, especially continuing to disinfect the environment on a large scale.

Although Hanoi has not recorded any case of nCoV, the risk of spreading the disease is huge. Therefore, Hanoi continues to implement measures to prevent the risk of disease spread.

The Department of Health of the city in coordination with functional units continue to closely monitor passengers arriving at Noi Bai Airport 24 hours a day; organizing areas to isolate people traveling from nCoV-hit areas and suspected cases; banning wildlife trade and business and advising people not to eat dog or cat meat on this occasion.

The department also acquires successful treatment therapies for nCoV patients from domestic and worldwide health facilities to train the city's health facilities, and quicklyearly recognize the signs of nCoV epidemic, distinguishing from seasonal flu.

Health stations organize disinfection and prepare isolation rooms to prevent outbreaks. In particular, in the immediate future, the city will prepare 2-3 million medical masks to give to students free of charge when they return to school.

According to a report of the Hanoi Department of Health, up to February 3rd, the city has not recorded any confirmed case of nCoV, but there are 29 suspected cases of nCoV infection being monitored at hospitals, including 6 people from Wuhan, 19 others from China and 4 people working at Noi Bai International Airport.

Happily, 27 of these people have negative test results for nCoV, while two haven’t received final test result and were being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

In addition, 104 people who have had close contact with people suspected of nCoV infection are under monitoring, currently only 11 people are continuing to be monitored, the rest have completed monitoring.

The nCoV epidemic has greatly affected the capital's tourism, the number of tourists has decreased by 30-35% over the same period.

According to Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Hoang Duc Hanh, Hanoi has actively implemented anti-epidemic measures, promoted communication, guided people how to prevent the disease, suspended or reduced the scale of festivals and allowed students to be temporarily absent from school.

The department closely monitors passengers who enter through Noi Bai International Airport to early detect cases of suspected disease.

In addition, the Department also actively cooperates with the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to collect samples from all suspected cases to test for pathogens; organizes training courses to guide surveillance and treatment for officials involved in epidemic prevention and control according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health.

The health sector also establishes hotlines to receive information about the epidemic open 24 hours: +84 969082115 and +84 949396115./.
