He has urged practical and effective organization of the movement, striving to reduce the poverty rate by 1-1.5% each year, by 4% in poor districts and communes, and by 3%-4% among ethnic minority families by 2020.

The movement aims to improve livelihood and increase poor people’s quality of life, ensuring the average income among poor families by 2020 increases by 1.5 times compared to late 2015.

The Government leader has also issued a plan to recheck poverty reduction policies in the 2017-2020 period.

Accordingly, policies relating to education and training, support for production, labor and employment, support for ethnic minority people; policies for cadres, power fee support, support for information and communications, and general poverty reduction policies, will be rechecked./.
