Former national player Tran Cong Minh to lead Dong Thap football club

(CPV) - Chairman of Dong Thap football club, Dang Xuan Huy, on May 5th said that former national player Tran Cong Minh, 46, was appointed as new head coach, replacing Mr Pham Cong Loc.

Earlier, Ca Mau football club invited former national right-wing defender to control the team, however the two sides did not finalize a detailed labour contract.

After seven games, Dong Thap club has only three points, placing bottom of the list. A real challenge is ahead.  

In the next round, host of the Cao Lanh Stadium will play in the visiting ground of the Long An club. It is considered as the upstream final match, as Long An is also placed right next to Dong Thap in the list, with just five points.

In the 8th round of V-League 2016 on April 30th, Dong Thap lost 0-4 to rivals from Quang Ninh coal. It was the fourth consecutive loss after losses of 1-4 to Can Tho Lottery (5th round), 0-1 to Hai Phong (6th round) and 2-5 to Hanoi T&T (7th round).

On May 6th morning, newly-appointed head coach Tran Cong Minh and his students travelled to Long An for the upcoming important match./.
