(CPV) - The 1st age-group Northern open chess 2016 tour, co-hosted by Vietnam Chess Federation and Bac Giang provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, took place from May 14th-15th .
The tour attracted over 300 players from Hanoi, Military, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, and Chess clubs in the Northern region and the host Bac Giang.

Players competed for U6, U7, U8, U10, U12, U14 individual and team events in 28 medal categories, following the Swiss system, with a maximum 15 minutes for rapid chess and 5 minutes for blitz chess.
It is a really good chance for chess players practice their skills, as well as chess training centers to exchange experience for further achievements in the future.
Finally, the host Bac Giang bagged three gold, three silver and nine bronze medals, while the Quang Ninh delegation won two gold, three silver and eight bronze medals./.
